  My SSB portfolio Sept SSB final interest rate is 3.10% with 3.06% in the first 6 years. Will be doing my final buy into SSB for this month using 22.5K, thus making up the total max amount of 200K in total for my SSB. Glad I manage to buy all my SSB when the interest rates are above 3%. Next month Oct SSB will be at around 2.8% or even lower. The high interest rates environment will be vanishing soon as there is almost 100% chance now that Fed will cut rates this Sept.  Also, based on past 10 years historical interest rates data for SSB, it only started going into the 3% and more from 2022 onwards. So, most likely going forward, the interest rates of SSB may stayed well below 3% which has been the norm during these past 10 years before Fed increased rates. Meaning, this month will be the last time to get an interest rate more than 3%.

Money Diary-Jul 2024

Finally topped up $10K to my Syfe Reits+ portfolio Saw a sudden sharp spike around 12 Jul in the prices of reits and decided to out 5K into it. Alas, 2 days later, Syfe announced they will be having their 5th year celebration promo by waiving 5 months of fee with minimum 5K deposit...Thus, I transferred another 5K into my reits , totaling 10K into this fund this month. This further add to my reits port folio, making it 51K in total. Finally met my objective in pumping it to at least 50K at last. Also attended Syfe talk in SGX this month on "S-reits mid year outlook: Approaching a turning point?" Well, it better be...as Reits had been wallowing in the pits for past few years due to increasing interest rates. Anyway, its my first time at SGX, super high security place....have to scan and take picture in order to get in.
